MoonPay is a service for buying crypto with a card, a bank transfer or other local payment methods. It is one way to get Bitcoin if you don't have an exchange account. You buy Bitcoin into a wallet you own, then use it to pay an Apollo Group TV invoice that offers Bitcoin.
MoonPay's terms say you must own and control the wallet you buy into. So buy Bitcoin into your own wallet first, then send it from there to the address on our invoice. Don't enter our invoice address in MoonPay.
MoonPay asks for your personal details, a photo of a government ID and a selfie. For first-time customers, MoonPay says extra security checks can take up to a few hours.
MoonPay lists more than 150 countries. In the US, New York's financial regulator granted it a BitLicense in June 2025, so it can serve customers in all 50 states.
Our invoice lists the payment options for your order. Only buy Bitcoin to pay us if the invoice offers Bitcoin. Ask us on WhatsApp if you're unsure.
Use a wallet app you control, or the wallet MoonPay can create for you on your first purchase. Copy your own Bitcoin receive address.
Pick a plan on the pricing page and tap Order on WhatsApp. We email you an invoice or payment link. Note the BTC amount and the Bitcoin address on it.
Choose Bitcoin, enter your own wallet address and pay by card, bank transfer or another method MoonPay offers in your country. Buy a little more than the invoice amount, so you can cover the network fee when you send it. MoonPay shows its minimum order amount on screen.
When the Bitcoin reaches your wallet, send the exact BTC amount on the invoice to the address on the invoice. Check the address and the network fee before you confirm.
Once the payment is confirmed on the Bitcoin network, we activate your line and send your login on WhatsApp and by email. Our install guides show you where to enter it.
MoonPay says its fees range from 1% for bank transfers to 4.5% for some card purchases, plus the Bitcoin network fee. Your card issuer may add its own fees for crypto purchases. (Checked October 2026 on MoonPay's buy page.)
A first purchase can take up to a few hours while MoonPay runs its checks, so set up your account before you order. After you send the payment from your wallet, it needs a confirmation on the Bitcoin network.
Our 24-hour money-back guarantee is counted from activation. We refund in Bitcoin to an address you give us, not to your card. The amount is the US dollars you paid, converted at the rate on the day we send it. MoonPay's fees are set by MoonPay and are not part of our refund. See our refund policy.
